Nigel Dick
To summarize the career accomplishments of award-winning director Nigel Dick would be almost impossible. The veteran, British-born filmmaker has compiled a list of credits that would leave even the most ambitious director exhausted. He has directed over 280 music videos – a beguiling number to say the least – as well countless documentaries, features films and commercials.
It’s important to note that Dick’s awe is not entirely derived from the sheer volume of his work – in fact, he has been responsible for some of the most influential music videos in MTV history, including: Shout and Everybody Wants To Rule The World by Tears For Fears; Sweet Child O' Mine, Welcome To The Jungle and Paradise City by Guns n' Roses; Wonderwall and Champagne Supernova by Oasis; Believe by Cher; and Baby One More Time and Oops I Did It Again by Britney Spears. Recent MTV hits include: Vindicated by Dashboard Confessionals, Savin’ Me by Nickelback, Stickwitu by Pussycat Dolls and Always on My Side by Sheryl Crow and Sting.
The enormous list of artists Dick has collaborated with includes The Backstreet Boys, Toni Braxton, Elton John, Ricky Martin, Paul McCartney, Tina Turner, Celine Dion, R.E.M., Gloria Estefan, NSync & Ozzy Osbourne.
He has also applied his rock and roll style and innate sense of humor to some of the most vibrant and visually stunning contemporary commercials for companies such as Bud Light, Entertainment Tonight and Sierra Mist to name a few.
In addition to feature film directing, Dick is also an accomplished screenwriter – having written eight screenplays – most recently, Sidewalking, which is currently in pre- production. He is also in post-production for his film Callback, starring Kevin Farley.
A true renaissance man, Dick manages to find time for his other passions, including being a serious cyclist and professional guitar player. His albums include: Flesh, Blood, Wood, Steel; All Stars and All Sorts; and Weird Stain.
He has lived in Los Angeles since 1986.
