Marc Webb’s directorial career has been a relentless adventure – full of energetic inspiration, visual insightfulness, and passion for the process of filmmaking. These characteristics come across in force through his award winning music videos, commercials and short films.

Webb’s distinct style – imbedded in hard-edged visuals and genuine rock & roll style – constantly evolves with every project he takes on. This commitment to the process of filmmaking is what puts him at the forefront of great directors and is what has brought the success he’s achieved to date. The range of artists he’s directed - from Green Day to Fergie to Matisyahu to My Chemical Romance and Maroon 5, to name a few - adds testament to his unique ability to adapt with every project.

Webb recently received top honors at the 2006 Music Video Production Association Awards – taking home the Director of the Year award for his work with All American Rejects, My Chemical Romance, and Weezer as well as the Best Pop Video of the Year award for the All American Rejects video "Move Along." Currently his Video for Daniel Powter’s "Bad Day" is #2 on the charts.

In addition to his recent acclaim, Webb’s video for Yellowcard, "Ocean Avenue," won the 2004 M2 VMA and his My Chemical Romance video, "I’m Not Okay (I Promise)" won the MVPA for Best Direction of a New Artist. My Chemical Romance’s “Helena” also ranked several weeks at #1 on MTV’s TRL and scored 5 nominations at the 2005 VMA’s, including Best Rock Video and Best New Artist. The same year his video for Jesse McCartney’s "Beautiful Soul" was nominated for Best Pop Video of the Year. Most recently he won the award for Best Director at the 2009 VMA's for Green Day "21 Guns".

His knack for persuasive, visual storytelling extends well into the commercial and feature film realm, where he’s directed spots for big players such as Target, Amnesty International, Monster.com – and most recently, Allstate. His debut feature "(500) Days of Summer" premiered at the Sundance film festival in 2009 and went on to earn wide acclaim.

Webb attended Colorado College and film school at New York University, where he received numerous accolades for the short films he directed. He has voraciously traveled to exotic locations across the world – collecting the inspiration and global insightfulness that is apparent in his work.

He lives in Los Angeles, California.
