Kevin Bray

Kevin Bray’s distinct directorial style combines masterful storytelling with urban sophistication. His creative acumen and knowledge of street culture has allowed him to successfully penetrate a variety of mediums, such as film, television, commer cials and music videos. Bray maintains the same caliber of standards no matter what genre he works in – making him one of the most respected and sought after directors in recent years. One of the most prolific music video directors, Bray has directed over 100 clips for some of the biggest names in the industry, including Jennifer Lopez, Brandy, Christina Aguilera, Lauryn Hill, De La Soul, and Whitney Houston. He has collected numerous awards from the MVPA, MTV, and the Billboard Awards – adding testament to the far-reaching affect his work has achieved as well as the influence its had on society.

Bray has also been making waves in television, with recent credits for Heroes (the final episode from last season), The Black Donnelly’s, CSI-NY, and Cold Case. Kevin has also branched into Executive Producing the acclaimed but short-lived urban music drama series, Platinum for UPN.

His unique style and stellar reputation have also landed him spots for some of the biggest names in the commercial arena – including Florida Lotto, Nike, Verizon, and Puma.

Bray’s most recent film, Walking Tall, starring The Rock, was released in 2004 by MGM. Before that he directed the 2002 offbeat buddy comedy All About the Benjamins, starring Ice Cube, Mike Epps and Eva Mendes.

Bray attended the University of Michigan and the Sorbonne before completing his studies at New York University Film School. DNA is proud to welcome him back after nine years away.

He lives in Los Angeles, California, with his wife, costume designer, Sophie de Rakff-Carbonell and son, Harrison.
